ESTA
Renovation of the facade of the commercial building "ESTA," directly connected to Toyama Chiho Railway's "Dentetsu Toyama" station.
Dentetsu Toyama Station is the gateway for tourists heading to climb Mount Tateyama, and is also a busy station with many commuters and students on a daily basis.
Initially, the client wanted to spruce up the old entrance hall, but we proposed organizing the current cluttered information to improve visibility and organize the information by introducing digital signage.
We deliberately left large spaces on the walls and proposed a facade that would display the minimum amount of information necessary, as well as a beautiful and emotional facade.
The theme of this wall is "What is falling in Toyama?"
In Toyama, where sunny days are rare, it is common to find it raining or snowing when you arrive at the station for sightseeing or a business trip.
Although it was unfortunate that we had to change plans, we came up with a design that would allow people to feel the beauty and emotion of what falls in Toyama.
This wall was made by cutting ribs from 30mm thick MDF boards with a high yield rate and arranging them randomly, which keeps material costs down while giving the wall a neutral yet rich look.
I hope that on a rainy or snowy day, people will stop and look at this and feel a little more positive.
